On the morning of November 9, 2018, the establishment ceremony of the “Development Fund for the Trade Economics Department” of the Business School of Renmin University of China was successfully held in Room 713, Mingde Business Building. Liu Tao (Chairman of Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd.), Li Zhongguang (Chairman Assistant), Wang Zhengyu (Vice President), Gao Yan (Executive Manager of Beijing Branch), Guo Haiying (Secretary General of Education Foundation of Renmin University of China), Huang Jiangming (Communist Party Secretary of Business School), Wang Xiaodong (Dean of Trade Economics Department of Business School), Liu Chen (a teacher of Project Department of Education Foundation of Renmin University of China), Huang Wei, Chao Yu and Wang Meiying (teachers of Alumni Office of Business School), and some award-winning students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Wang Xiaoming, a teacher from the Trade Economics Department of Business School.

Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd. was incorporated in Weifang, Shandong Province in 2011. It is a Sino-foreign joint venture jointly funded by Shenzhen Sinoway Investment Holding Co., Ltd. and Dubal Holding LLC, with a registered capital of CNY 100 million and a total investment of CNY 690 million. Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd. donated CNY 3 million to the Education Foundation of Renmin University of China to establish the “Development Fund for the Trade Economics Department” of the Business School of Renmin University of China. The donation will last for 10 years, with an annual donation of CNY 300,000.

Later, Secretary Huang Jiangming delivered a speech at the ceremony. He thanked Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd. for its donation, pointed out that the donation will help the school cultivate more outstanding talents, and warmly invited alumni Liu Tao to regularly visit the university. After that, Secretary Huang Jiangming exhorted the award-winning students, “Love needs to be and must be imparted and inherited. I hope all of you can do something within your power, assume your social responsibilities, repay the society and the alma mater.”

Then, the ceremony proceeded to the donation and award process. First, Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd. donated CNY 300,000 to the Education Foundation of Renmin University of China.

After the award ceremony, Liu Tao, a 1993 alumnus of Business School of Renmin University of China and Chairman of Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd., delivered a speech. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the guests and students present. Liu Tao pointed out that Renmin University of China provided him with a good platform for learning and practice, and the basic knowledge and management knowledge learned in the university provided great help for his entrepreneurial career after graduation. Until now, he still benefits and is very grateful to the university and teachers for their cultivation.

After that, Professor Wang Xiaodong, Dean of Trade Economics Department, China Business School of Renmin University, delivered a speech. First of all, he thanked Sinoway Carbon (Shandong) Co., Ltd. for its donation. Then, he introduced the history of the Trade Economics Department of Renmin University of China to the guests present. He said that the Trade Economics Department is one of the three departments that have been preserved all the time, and its name has not changed and the same as that when Liu Tao studied in the university. At last, Professor Wang Xiaodong pointed out that when enterprises reach a certain height, entrepreneurs shall consider giving back to the society and their alma mater.

Finally, the establishment ceremony of the establishment of “Development Fund for the Trade Economics Department” of Business School of Renmin University of China ended successfully, and guests took a group photo.
