Sinoway Forest Collaborates with Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography to Conduct Aerial Seeding Evaluation in Altay, Xinjiang

In a significant step towards ecological restoration, Sinoway Forest Technology Co., Ltd. has joined forces with the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to undertake a technical evaluation of aerial seeding in Altay, Xinjiang. This collaboration marks a milestone in the promotion of rapid ecological recovery and vegetation rehabilitation in Gobi deserts.

In November 2023, Sinoway Forest successfully conducted a largescale aerial seeding project, covering an area of 1,800 hectares, in Beitun. The operation involved the dispersal of tree seed balls from the air, a technique designed to efficiently establish vegetation in areas that are challenging for traditional planting methods.

To ensure the scientific validity and effectiveness of this method, Sinoway Forest collaborated closely with XIEG experts. The institute, with its vast expertise in ecological research and restoration, provided critical guidance and support for the project. XIEG's desert plant experts monitored the germination rate of the seed balls using satellite observations and on-site data collection. This scientific approach ensures that the results of the aerial seeding are accurate and reliable.

The collaboration between Sinoway Forest and XIEG aims to provide a scientific basis for the promotion of aerial seeding technology in Xinjiang and beyond. The technique is expected to play a crucial role in the rapid ecological recovery of degraded landscapes, including Gobi deserts, where traditional reforestation methods are often ineffective.

The successful completion of this project marks a significant step in the partnership between Sinoway Forest and XIEG. Both parties are committed to further exploring and optimizing aerial seeding techniques to contribute to the sustainability of ecosystems in Xinjiang and beyond.

This collaboration not only demonstrates the potential of aerial seeding for ecological restoration but also highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing environmental challenges. As Sinoway Forest and XIEG continue their collaboration, they are poised to make significant contributions to the global effort to protect and restore our planet's fragile ecosystems.
